Unfortunately, Tel Aviv’s 100th birthday celebration was marked by major chilul Shabbos by city employees, who were busy setting up for the motzei Shabbos event on the holy day.
Trucks of equipment were unloaded at Rabin Square on Shabbos in addition to building the stage and making other necessary preparations for the event.
Tel Aviv Councilman Naftali Lovert was quoted in the daily HaMevaser stating Tel Aviv City Hall promised him the motzei Shabbos event would not result in chilul Shabbos by official agencies. Rav Lovert stated senior city official Mr. Reuven Zaluf promised him the Shabbos would be respected, assuring him that all preparations would be concluded before Shabbos started.
HaMevaser reports that Tel Aviv City Hall had not responded as the day’s paper went to print.

We are saddened, but definitely not surprised.
What a shame!!
Insensitive Israelis? Now I’ve seen everything.
the baal shem says: if u see someone doing a aveire like chilul shabbas, since u r seeing such a thing, its telling u, du tshuva urself, check to see how u keep shabbas, because u must have something to do with this, if u see it.
maybe they are goyish contractors and hopefully will be told that all has to be completed before shobbas.
