Mekorot Water Company officials announced that for a first time, it will open the well facility at Yigal Alon Jct. in Bet Shemesh to permit those who are stringent regarding ‘mayim shelanu’.

This was not done in previous years, compelling residents wishing to bake matzos on erev yomtov to make the trip to Jerusalem. Councilman R’ Mordechai Direnfeld has thanks Mekorot officials for adhering to his request.

In Bet Shemesh, as is the case in other chareidi areas around Eretz Yisrael, there are chaburas seeking to organize matzah baking on erev Pesach, hence the need for mayim shelanu.
