Security forces around the country are operating on heightened alert status ahead of Pessach, realizing terrorists are anxious to perpetrate a major attack to coincide with the yomtov.

Israel Police and other agencies report they are ready for yomtov, stating they will be operating on a level 3 alert status, the highest level under a ‘state of emergency’. Appropriate measures have been taken to ensure the safety of all citizens over yomtov, with an emphasis placed on Jerusalem, Tel Aviv and other cities, as well as “sensitive locations” around the country. This includes but is not limited to public gathering areas, shopping centers and major parks.

Thousands of police and army forces will be operating with volunteer and specialized units, tactical forces and intelligence agencies towards preventing all planned attacks, with the intelligence community stating there are currently dozens of intelligence warnings of planned terror attacks.
