Bat Ayin Terrorist Still at Large

The terrorist responsible for last week’s axe attack in the Gush Etzion community of Bat Ayin remains at large, officials report.

Despite the extensive manhunt that immediately followed the attack in the isolated community, which claimed the life of 16-year-old Shlomo Nativ HY”D, authorities have not apprehended the terrorist. 7-year-old Yair [ben Michal] Gamliel remains in Jerusalem’s Hadassah Ein Kerem Hospital in stable condition. He was struck in the head by the axe-wielding terrorist and suffered a skull fracture.

Leaders of the Gush Etzion Regional Council on Sunday will be meeting with senior security officials to discuss possible security improvement for Bat Ayin, which is a small isolated community down the road from Kibbutz Kfar Etzion. Some of the security precautions being discussed included a perimeter fence for the community and security cameras.

Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu following Thursday’s attack telephoned the bereaved parents of Shlomo, promising the terrorist will be apprehended, stressing his administration will have an iron-hand approach to terror.

  1. “Iron Hand”, unfortunately the only times they use that iron hand is when it is raised against their fellow Jews.
