Police on Friday morning report the Bat Ayin terrorist remains at large, explaining they do have information towards apprehending him but they have not succeeded in taking him into custody as of the morning hours.
Authorities believe the terrorist acted alone, not sent by an organization.
16-year-old Shlomo Nativ HY”D was buried in the Gush Etzion Regional Cemetery on Thursday night, and the 7-year-old victim, Yair ben Michal Gamliel, remains in stable condition following surgery in Hadassah Ein Kerem Hospital.
Bat Ayin Rabbi Daniel Cohen explains the community at large is working to accept the difficult g’zar din, rejecting media reports that anyone is contemplating a revenge attack against area Arabs.
Another community resident was murdered by terrorists about two years ago, with some residents explaining the heavy price paid for the mitzvah of yishuv ha’aretz.
HaKadosh Baruch Hu at times orchestrates a scenario that provides a stark contrast, as is the case in Bay Ayin today. The night before the murder a young couple was married and following the levaya, sheva brochos for Yehuda and Odaya Gordon continued on schedule as per the p’sak of the community’s rav.
