The NGO assisting Holocaust survivors in Eretz Yisrael is in need of assistance its directors report.

Most of the survivors are quite elderly, some alone and infirmed, unable to make yomtov preparations. The Organization for Immediate Assistance to Survivors tries to bring them yomtov packages and a gift, seeking to provide for their physical and emotional needs.

According to volunteer Etti Cohen, “We are here to provide immediate assistance without bureaucracy, without forms and procedures. We appreciate the survivors permit us to assist them but we are on our own. We do not receive any funding from the state or other institutions.”

The organization is seeking donations, food vouchers, gift certificates, basics including toilet paper and cleaning products, as well as small appropriate yomtov gifts that can enhance the yomtov for a recipient.

Officials add many of those receiving assistance are in need of new appliances, stoves, refrigerators and the like. Anyone wishing to assist may contact 03-525-7888 or email [email protected].
