Eitan Doesn’t Want a New Vehicle or Security

Minister of Improvement of Government Services (Likud) Michael Eitan has already announced he does not want a new vehicle or a bodyguard. Insisting he does not want anyone telling him that he new position is costing taxpayers money, Eitan explained he will remain with his Mazda 6, the vehicle he used as an MK, and he is not planning to have a driver or bodyguard. “I am perfectly capable of continuing to drive myself” he explained.

He added that if he was a defense minister or member of the inner cabinet, perhaps there would be justification for the compulsory bodyguard but his position he feels does not justify the move, which comes with significant expense.

“My entire life as a public servant I have worked to save public funds. There is a limit and as a minister, I must be permitted some say as to these arrangements”.
