Labor Rebels Did Not Vote in Favor of the Government

While the new government is underway, the coalition did not enjoy the support of all the members of the coalition parties. The Labor Party ‘rebels’, those who oppose entering the coalition, did not vote in favor of the incoming administration.

While the coalition has 74 members only 69 voted in favor of the government. The other five were present at the time of the vote, but opted not to vote in favor of the coalition, having expressed their strong opposition to Labor entering into the coalition agreement with the Likud-led administration.

MKs Ofir Pines, Amir Peretz, Prof. Yuli Tamir, Eitan Cabel and Shelly Yacimovitz made good on their threat not to support the government.
