For the first time in the State of Israel’s history, a nationwide preparedness drill will take place in which all citizens will be called upon to seek cover.

The nationwide event, simulating a major missile strike, is expected to last a number of days, sometime in June, involving residents around the country, organized and implemented by the IDF’s Homefront Command.

Homefront Command officials stress that the exercise is not an indicator of a deterioration of the current security situation but stressed the value of being prepared for any eventuality.
