An IDF soldier told police that he was on his way home in Beersheva from his base when two Arabs attacked him on Shaul HaMelech Street and cut him in the area of his abdomen with a box cutter in a Tuesday afternoon attack. The perpetrators fled.

The wounded soldier was transported to Soroka Medical Center. The motive for the attack is not clear police report, adding they are seeking to determine if the incident was a terror attack.
