Likud leader Binyamin Netanyahu in the coming days is expected to begin signing agreements with his coalition partners, hinting he hopes to present his new cabinet and coalition government to President Peres next Wednesday or Thursday.
Realizing the appointment of Daniel Friedman as justice minister in compliance with Yisrael Beitenu’s demands will result in an internal storm within the party, Netanyahu is working to persuade Avigdor Lieberman to make another appointment, to select a candidate deemed acceptable to both Yisrael Beitenu and Likud. Netanyahu promised Lieberman that he may select a justice minister, but Friedman, who is the serving minister, is too controversial and the incoming prime minister is seeking a more widely acceptable candidate.
A growing sentiment can be heard from within Likud warning of continued “Friedman-ism”, stating the controversial justice minister may not be permitted to serve another term.
During a faction meeting on Monday, the prime minister-designate called on his colleagues to minimize statements to the media regarding cabinet ministries, explaining the negotiating process if fragile and the less said the better. The party’s leader’s remarks were obvious aimed at Silvan Shalom, who holds the seventh slot, but he fell short of mentioning him by name. Realizing he is unlikely to become the foreign minister, Shalom has been gathering his supporters as he seeks to rebuild his power base within the party, threatening to rock the boat and become the leader of the party’s internal opposition.

No: leave it upside down!
The Sefer Eliyahu predicts that the last ruler in Israel before Moshiach will be called “Harmalt”, which some says is hinting at Olmert!
Bibi may not be able to form a government: he’s not PM yet!
Please keep the picture upsidedown. Not only is it in keeping with Purim, but it also represents our focus on corrupt politics. We should be less interested with politics & more so with Torah & Mitzvot.
He looks much better upside down.
And the picture is upside down why?
After he announces his cabinet, will he announce if he is using granite or marble or some other material for the counter tops? Politically, this admin will be a waste of time too.
I agree with #3. Friedman (he spells his name in Hebrew, so how one renders it in English is a matter of choice) is the only member of the current government who is worth anything. He should be kept, and it speaks well of Lieberman that he’s willing to give one of his party’s slots to someone who has no connection to him or the party. Really Netanyahu should not count this against Yisrael Beitenu’s allotment, but we know how politics works.
