Monday Midday News Briefs from Eretz Yisrael


Officials in the Prime Minister’s Office deny knowledge of a new Gilad Shalit video testifying to the soldier’s good health as per a report by the Kuwaiti Al Jarida newspaper. Hamas officials in Gaza also expressed puzzlement over the report of the video.

**A British aid delegation heading to Gaza was attacked in el-Arish in Egypt.

**Two Israelis who mistakenly entered PA-occupied Yericho were taken out safely by PA (Palestinian Authority) force and headed over to IDF officials.

**Minister of Industry & Trade signed an order that would reduce the price of subsidized breads by 4.3%. The order now awaits the signature of Finance Minister Roni Bar-On. A basic load of rye/white bread will sell for NIS 4.44. Bakers warn the move will deliver a fatal blow to the industry and result in hundreds of layoffs.
