A number of high-ranking members of the Druse community held a press conference on Sunday, calling on incoming Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu to appoint a Druse minister in his cabinet.  Taking part in the press conference were a number of IDF brigadier-generals as well as high-ranking Israel Police officials, all members of the Druse community.

“It is time for equality. For 61 years the Druse community has sacrificed its finest sons in defense of the country. The time has come to respond appropriately. The Druse community plays a role in the future of the nation by earned right and not as a privilege” the media statement read.
