Police Reject Claims that Tractor Attack was an Accident

mishtara2.jpgIsrael Police officials are rejecting the theory put forward by the family of the tractor terrorist, which insists the terror attack at Golomb Junction in Jerusalem on Thursday afternoon was a vehicular accident. Police report without a shadow of a doubt that the incident was a terror attack and of this, they are certain.

The terrorist was identified as Mirei Radeideh, 26, from the Beit Haninah area of Jerusalem, married and the father of one child. At the time of the attack, he had a PA (Palestinian Authority) identity card on him.

The family of the terrorist fears the government may attempt to seal or even raze their home, compelling them to announce the incident was an accident. Family members insist Mirei was not “extremist” and not capable of carrying out such an attack.

Jerusalem Mayor Nir Barkat shortly following the attack called for bringing down the full weight of the law against terrorists and their families, who strike “innocent civilians”, stating the homes of terrorists must be destroyed.

The mayor’s words are echoed by the Land of Israel Forum, which released a statement calling on the government to take the required action. The forum is calling on the Defense Ministry and Attorney General Menachem Mazuz to make the razing of a terrorist’s home policy, an act of punishment and deterrence.
