The United Kingdom remains adamantly against Israel’s presence in what it calls “the occupied West Bank,” namely Yehuda and Shomron.
Negotiations between Britain and Africa Israel to relocate its Tel Aviv embassy have ended, with Britain announcing unilaterally it cannot continue after it learned that subsidiaries of Africa Israel, owned by Lev Leviev, build in “occupied Palestinian areas in the West Bank”.
The decision to halt talks were in response to growing protests in the UK by anti-Israel Arabs who wanted to end the deal, and the decision was made by Ambassador Tom Phillips, who pointed out his country remains firmly opposed to dealing with any countries operating in the “occupied areas”.
British officials report they are now looking for alternative sites for the Tel Aviv embassy building.
