Senior Likud officials report that while both Labor and Kadima are releasing messages that they are heading for opposition, they remain optimistic regarding Ehud Barak and the Labor Party.

Senior Labor Party officials are opposed to joining the government, but the party leader, Defense Minister Barak, has not ruled out the possibility, not wishing to become a run-of-the-mill MK, since Tzipi Livni will head the opposition.
