While potential coalition partners continue to submit their wish lists and demands, some dreaming of becoming a senior cabinet minister, incoming Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu appears to be hunting for his finance minister outside of the political arena.
YWN reported earlier in the week that Netanyahu offered the post to Bank of Israel Governor Prof. Stanley Fischer, but he declined. There are now reports that Netanyahu has approached Prof. Yaakov Frankel, deputy director of AIG and a former governor of the Bank of Israel. Another name being tossed around is Aaron Fogel, a former director-general of the Finance Ministry and head of the budgeting division of the ministry.
