Number two on the Kadima list, Shaul Mofaz, stated that the party did not receive 28 seats in the election to remain in the opposition, urging party leaders to enter the coalition talks with the intention of reaching a deal that will permit Kadima to become the senior partner in the new administration.
Mofaz told the media that there is no decree automatically resigning the party’s fate to opposition, explaining the party must ensure the coalition guidelines are acceptable to Kadima’s platform, but simultaneously, efforts towards an agreement with Likud should be ongoing. “Understand, I am not opposed to opposition” stated Mofaz, but he feels this should be a last resort and not the party’s direction at present, without having exhausted possibilities of joining the ruling coalition.
Mofaz stated Kadima is unified and heading in one direction in response to a question if he his thinking to moving back to his native Likud should party leader Tzipi Livni opt for opposition.

Mofaz was looking for the Defense Minister job and he is a soreloser.. (he left likud to become famous and he is left out in the opposition= which will probably not be a reality).
