According to Hamas reports from Gaza, a number of Fatah affiliated residents are in custody and are accused of operating a spy network to pass information to Israel during Operation Cast Lead.

According to reports from Gaza, the suspects in custody have made confessions which have been recorded by Hamas. They are charged with passing information to Israel, including the whereabouts of senior Hamas officials. The information was transferred to Ramallah and from there, to Israel.

The Gaza-based reports add the agents were being paid for their services by Israel and the PA (Palestinian Authority) in Ramallah.
