Veteran Labor MK Binyamin Ben-Eliezer, a former defense minister and veteran personality in the Israeli political arena, told Israel Radio on Monday that his party must remain in the opposition.
Ben-Eliezer stated it should be clear to all at present that the nation has spoken, and the voters opted for a right-wing government and therefore, his party must remain in opposition and not join any forming coalition.
Regarding the dismissal of Amos Gilad at this late hour in the administration, which is about to change hands, Ben-Eliezer called the move unfortunate, adding it will not in any way contribute to obtaining Shalit’s release.
