Sources in the Prime Minister’s Office have confirmed that Prime Minister Ehud Olmert has offered Hamas to release hundreds of murderers from Israeli prisons in exchange for the release of Gilad Shalit. Israel originally agreed to release about 100 terrorists from Hamas’ original list of 450 murderers. In an effort to obtain Shalit’s release, Olmert is now willing to release others as well, numbering in the hundreds, some not even from Hamas’ original list, officials on Olmert’s staff confirm. The names submitted to Hamas from Mr. Olmert include many murderers, terrorists that Israel originally would not discuss releasing.
After meeting for a number of hours on Wednesday, the National Security Cabinet voted that without Hamas’ agreement to release Gilad Shalit, all negotiations are being suspended, the Gaza crossings will not be opened, and talks towards a ceasefire will not move ahead.
Hamas has responded angrily, accusing Israel of a last-minute maneuver that is unacceptable, seeking to turn the tables around. Hamas is now stating that until there is a ceasefire and the Gaza crossings are opened, there will be no discussion pertaining to a release of Shalit.

Doesn’t the fool understand that for every terrorist he frees, there will be two Shalit’s to negotiate for in the future?
I pray Shalit is alive and will remain alive when he is released. The last 2 were sent home in a box. I dont put anything past these terrorists. Shalit should be handed over first before any terrorists are freed. (Just going by past performance)
