US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton is expected to make her first visit to Israel in her new senior post in the beginning of March. She will be meeting with state leaders in Israel and the PA (Palestinian Authority). Prior to her arrival, she will attend a Gaza fundraising event in Cairo.

If a government is not in place at the time of the secretary’s visit, she will meet with both Tzipi Livni and Binyamin Netanyahu.

The secretary’s visit follows a visit shortly after the American elections by special Mideast envoy George Mitchell.
