Six premature infants were born in Jerusalem’s Bikur Cholim Hospital in one day. On Sunday morning, triplets were born to a 24-year-old mother, two boys and a girl, residents of the capital. All of the children were preemie weight.
On motzei Shabbos, another Jerusalem mother gave birth to twin boys, weighing 920 grams (2lbs) and 1.52kg (3.3lbs). Another preemie was also born on motzei Shabbos.
Shimon Malka, a hospital spokesman, reports on Monday morning that the six have filled the hospital’s preemie ward, now holding at 300% of capacity. Malka adds this was the second set of triplets born in the hospital this month.
