On Monday (15 February 2009) a special bris took place in Yeshivat Merkaz HaRav in the Kiryat Moshe section of Jerusalem, a week away from the first yahrzeit of the eight Kedoshim who were killed in the terror attack.
Rav Tzemach Hirschfeld, whose son, 18-year-old Yonatan Chaim was murdered in the attack, was the mohel. The bris will took place at 10:30am.
The father of the infant is Yitzchak Dadon, the police officer who was one of the people credited with neutralizing the terrorist along with Captain Shapiro, an IDF officer who was nearby at home, responding to the scene after hearing the gunfire [reported HERE on YWN].
The bris was performed in the presence of Sephardic Chief Rabbi Shlomo Moshe Amar Shlita.
Speaking to Kol Chai Radio on Sunday, Rav Tzemach stated the event will indeed be a special once, marking another milestone, a closure, as the first yahrzeit approaches, an event that will be marked with the dedication of eight sifrei Torah, next week, on the first day of Rosh Chodesh Adar (reported HERE on YWN).

FYI – there is now a memorial book about the 8 murdered students, it is called “Princes Among Men”. It has just been published. It can be found in Jewish bookstores in the USA and Israel, as well as on the Feldheim website and the usual on-line book sites.
