Security along Israel’s northern border has been higher over recent months, since the start of Operation Cast Lead. Today, however, Thursday, marks the first anniversary of the Damascus car bomb death of senior Hizbullah commander Imad Mughniyeh.
While security is heightened in Israel, in response to intelligence community reports that Hizbullah plans to avenge the attack, the focus of increased security remains outside of Israel, surrounding diplomatic facilities and other Israel/Jewish related potential targets worldwide.
During recent months, there have been repeated warnings of planned revenge attacks, on one-month anniversary of the fatal car bomb attack, six months, and now, one year.
