Newly elected Likud MK Dr. Benny Begin told Galei Tzahal (Army Radio) on Wednesday morning that he prefers a larger coalition including Kadima and Labor if possible, stating there are some issues facing the nation that demand the broad-based support. Dr. Begin stated such an arrangement would be preferable to a narrow government with Yisrael Beitenu.
Begin explained that the issues that separate the party, the ideological differences, can be addressed in a number of years, not now.
Begin explained that agreements with some of Israel’s neighbors are not imminent; permitting time to work on pressing issues in the framework of a well-defined coalition agreement.
