Maran Rav Yosef Sholom Elyashiv Shlita has been diagnosed with pneumonia by doctors in Jerusalem’s Shaare Zedek Medical Center. The Posek HaDor was taken to the hospital on Sunday night after complaining of not feeling well during the day (as reported HERE on YWN).
Zaka volunteer Shimi Grossman explains that R’ Aryeh, a grandson of the Rav, phoned him shortly after 8:55PM to come to the home, explaining his grandfather was not feeling well. The Rav explained his chest was feeling heavy. It was decided to immediately summon an ambulance for transport.
He was diagnosed with a severe case of pneumonia which is being treated by intravenous antibiotics.
