Egypt’s Leader Blasts Hamas – Blames Terror Organization

mubarak.jpgEgyptian President Hosni Mubarak on Wednesday lashed out at Hamas, blaming the terrorist regime for the situation in Gaza today.

Mubarak questioned why Hamas rejected Egyptian overtures to extend the ceasefire that preceded the Gaza War, stating the leadership in Gaza underestimated the Israeli response, which was harsh and has resulted in the current painful realities.

He hinted at the terror organization’s Damascus-based leader, Khaled Meshal, stating the leaders make bold statements while Arab blood is spilled.

Mubarak, a central figure mediating between the sides, has gained significantly by advancing his new role, viewed as a staunch ally of the United States and the West, a moderate peace-maker in the region.
