SECURITY/DEFENSE:

*Today is day 19 of the Gaza ceasefire.

*Today, Wednesday, is Gilad Shalit’s 956th day in Hamas captivity.

*An Egged number 8 bus was attacked by Arabs throwing rocket near French Hill at about 7pm Wednesday night. One passenger was treated for hysteria. There was damage to the bus.

*A mortar shell was fired into the Eshkol region from Hamas-controlled Gaza on Wednesday afternoon.

*Members of the peacekeeping force patrolling in southern Lebanon north of Rosh HaNikra on Wednesday reported finding 5 rockets, adding they were no in launch position.

POLITICS, DOMESTIC & MORE:

*Binyamin Netanyahu told a Tel Aviv election rally that he plans to appoint Avigdor Lieberman to an important cabinet post if elected prime minister. He added Lieberman will be an important component of his government.

*Train service around the country has come to a sudden halt due to a wildcat strike.
