9:30AM IL: Former finance minister, Avraham Hirschson, was admitted to Ichilov hospital during the night after complaining of chest pain. Physicians on Wednesday morning report he is being treated for hypertension and other symptoms. He is scheduled to undergo tests on Wednesday. His condition is reported as stable.

The incident comes as the former senior minister and former national labor federation chief was in the midst giving testimony in his fraud trial, alleged to have made off with NIS millions from the labor fund. The allegations against him compelled him to step down from his senior cabinet post.
