Israel: Phone Threat Prompts Police Involvement

Attorney Talya Sasson, number seven on the New Meretz list, told police that she received a phone call threatening the well-being of her mother. After the phone call, she quickly filed a complaint with Mevaseret Police, where she lives.

While Sasson does not wish to speak to the media regarding the alarming incident, aides explain she is deeply concerned and troubled over the threatening call.

Sasson has been affiliated with the state prosecutor’s office for over 20 years. She was heavily involved in the legal battle against unauthorized outposts in Yehuda and Shomron.

The New Meretz Party released a statement standing behind Sasson, stating threats will not sway the party and Sasson in their political stance and their determination to remove illegal outposts and to continue fighting for law and order.
