Israel’s counter-terror bureau issued a global warning to Israelis, particularly senior government and IDF officials abroad. Following are some of the recommendations and precautions to be taken as per the counter-terrorism expects.
Maintain a vigilance regarding any ‘unusual’ activity and do not hesitate to immediately report any strange activities that you observe.
*Do not visit any nation listed in a travel advisory. An emphasis is placed on Arab/Muslim nations.
*Do not respond to any unplanned business opportunities, meetings, recreational opportunities or major changes in schedule by unknown persons.
*Do not agree to attend any unscheduled meetings, especially in secluded areas or after dark.
*Make certain to hold meetings during daylight hours, in public areas, and in the accompaniment of a known person.
*Do not invite strangers or suspicious guests into your hotel room.
*Do not take a taxi that stops on the street at your side. Take the extra time to telephone for a cab.
*Do not fall into a pattern, especially during an extended stay abroad. Change hotels from time-to-time. Change your walking route, driving route, restaurants, and places of entertainment.
Israeli counter-terror experts warn Hizbullah is working diligently to perpetrate a major terror attack to mark the one-year anniversary of the Damascus car bomb attack that claimed the life of a senior terrorist commander, Imad Mughniyeh on Feb. 12, 2008.
While Israel never accepted responsibility for eliminating the arch terrorist, Hizbullah blames Israel and continues to vow to avenge his death.

It sounds a little bit exaggerated to follow these steps in The Netherlands and Switzerland (which I am going to visit in 6 weeks). Especially the last one. Changing my driving route every day…? Please…
#1: you never know. I know the Netherlands, and you have to be careful there as well!!
