Acts of terror are once again on the increase in Yehuda and Shomron, including shooting attacks against civilians.

A firebomb was hurled at a vehicle in Shomron on motzei Shabbos in the area of Itamar. Later in the night, a Benjamin Council Development Company bus was targeted by gunfire near Ofrah, also in Shomron. Another shooting attack against a bus from the area occurred a week earlier in the same location.

Benjamin Regional Council security officials report four shooting attacks in the past two weeks. In one of those attacks, a resident of Shvut Rachel was seriously wounded as he and his wife were traveling towards Kochav HaShachar.

Gershon Mesika, who heads the Shomron Regional Council, released a statement following the motzei Shabbos shooting attack near Itamar. “We thank Hashem for the miracle in Itamar. A soldier’s coat was hit by a sniper’s bullet but he was uninjured. The government encourages terrorism against soldiers and civilians by releasing terrorists and distributing weapons to terror organizations.”

In the Southern Chevron Hills, Arab rioted near Bet Merkachat Jct. A number of them were injured when soldiers used riot-control adjuncts to restore order in the area.
