Israel’s ‘staunch ally’ Turkey has shown his true colors since the IDF launched Operation Cast Lead, accusing Jerusalem of “killing innocent people, war crimes” and other terms of endearment.
The most recent incident took place on Thursday at the Davos, Switzerland economic conference, during which a red-faced Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan walked out angrily after shouting at President Shimon Peres “Israel is killing people”.
Mr. Peres used the forum to explain Israel’s position, after which Erdogan began responding but was interrupted by a moderator. He angrily shouted at Peres “You are killing people”, prompting the president to respond without hesitation, stating “If rockets landed in Istanbul you would have done the same”.
The two continued the heated verbal exchange until the Turkish leader walked out.
Former Norwegian Prime Minister Kjell Magne Bondevik was one of the participants who commented, stating he knows President Peres for many years and explained “I have never seen him respond so passionately, perhaps because Israel was attacked by so many in the forum”.
Not missing a beat and taking advantage of the situation to take another jab at Israel, Amr Moussa, today the Arab League secretary and a former Egyptian Foreign Minister stated that he understands the Turkish leader’s response.
The Turkish leader did not back down from his anti-Israel position, telling supporters that everything Peres stated was a lie, rejecting any explanation from Israel to justify launching an offensive against Gaza after enduring eight years of unprovoked rocket-fire.
Turkish media reports state that President Peres phoned Erdogan to apologize for the incident.
One should be reminded that Israel relies on Turkey to act as an impartial third-party mediator in talks with Damascus, boasting the friendship with the neighboring country which during the Gaza War was among the most vehemently anti-Israel nations, working tenaciously to enlist the international community against Israel.

Sounds like it should the other way around.

The fool apoligized? You only apoligize when you feel your did the wrong thing. Seems they are running a popularity contest instead of a country.
Wow, no comments from Erdogan on the rockets that just started falling again. Maybe he likes them when they’re coming from Arabs, you know, ones that look like his ancestors.
