A delegation of 10 dispatched by Cairo left earlier in the week for the American-Mexican border to obtain a first-hand look at American technology at work along the border, detecting and destroying tunnels.
One of the processes they hope to observe is the detonation of explosives at a certain depth below ground, which reportedly creates enough of a shockwave to destroy tunnels.
The technology was already deployed in the past by Israel, and Jerusalem recommended to the Egyptians to acquire the technology but Egypt decided to pass on the opportunity.
