National Union head MK Prof. Aryeh Eldad stated “we will never have peace with the Arabs,” calling for the implementation of Jewish sovereignty on Har HaBayis, adding “Whoever controls Har HaBayis controls Israel”.
“We cannot give them a feeling that they control Har HaBayis. We must assert Jewish sovereignty to make the situation clear to all”. He added the current situation is a violation of Israeli law, guaranteeing one religious freedom.
The right-wing MK stated he welcomes efforts to create a right-wing bloc but warns NRP’s (Mafdal) move to join Bayit Yehudi was a move to take over the Ichud Leumi (National Union).
“I tried to create Hatikvah as a political alternative and approached the Bayit Yehudi to join but was met with refusal”.
Regarding Operation Cast Lead, Eldad called it “too little too late,” questioning why the counter-terrorism offensive was not launched a year earlier. He adds that without an IDF presence on Philadelphi Route in Gaza, the attacks will not cease, stating the IDF must respond immediately and sternly to each and every attack, without exception, further stating that if “innocent people are hit as a result, I am almost happy since this is preferable to the reverse, that innocent people are hit in Israel.”
Regarding the recent High Court of Justice ruling overturning the Central Election Committee decision to disqualify Arab parties in the upcoming election, he stated he was not at all surprised and it only confirms the justices of the nation’s highest court maintain an ideology in line with the radical left-wing Meretz Party.
Regarding Israel’s position of treating Gaza residents in Israeli hospitals, the former chief IDF medical officer stated he has treated many terrorists in the past and there is no contradiction since the medical community acts in a humanitarian environment as it should. He added that if he saw an armed terrorist, he would not hesitate to fire at him and if he did not kill him, he would then rush to treat his wounds.

Message to MK Eldad – Don’t worry about Har HaBayis. Do the mitzvos in the Torah, mekarev your fellow Jew, and let Hashem take care of the rest.
