According to Hamas official Iman Taha, Israel has offered an 18-month ceasefire but the terrorist organization is only willing to make an agreement for one year. If the report proves true, it will once again exhibit’s Hamas brazen attitude, a tenacious approach that demands setting the rules of play, perhaps in a showing of strength or defiance to Israel.
According to Taha, speaking to reporters in Cairo, Israel offered an 18-month ceasefire when Defense Ministry official Amos Gilad met in Cairo with senior officials. In addition, Taha stated Hamas insists on the unconditional opening of all Gaza crossings. There is no mention made regarding the plight of Gilad Shalit.
Hamas is exhibiting a willingness to station Turkish and Egyptian crossing inspectors at Gaza crossings but rejects outright the positioning of Israeli forces. Regarding those PA (Palestinian Authority) officials loyal to Chairman Mahmoud Abbas (Abu Mazen), Taha stated “Hamas rules in Gaza”.

Israel should respond by revising their offer to 6 months.
The war ended with Hamas still in control of sufficient territory to be able to shell Ashdod and Beersheva. Why should they be in the mood to make concessions? Do you think Germany would have surrended in May 1945 if they were still able to bomb London every night, and to keep the Allies out of a large amount of their territory?
I guess they calculate that it shouldnt take more than a year to rearm. Once they rearm why would they want to be “stuck” to a ceasefire.
Israel should respond by killing one of their leaders, and than killing the rest of them when they come out for the Levaya.
As Abba Eban once said: “The Palestinians never miss an opportunity to miss an opportunity”.
