Coming to Hamas’ side, Syrian President Bashar al-Assad released a statement hailing Hamas’ victory over the IDF in Operation Cast Lead.
In a Saturday meeting with Hamas leader Khaled Meshal in Damascus, the Syrian leader congratulated him and Hamas for the victory and Hamas’ ability to show “resistance” against the IDF in Gaza.
The Syrian state-run Sana news agency added the victory against the IDF attests to the “determination of the Palestinian people to achieve their inalienable right and to reject the continued occupation”.
Meshal thanked the Syrian leader for standing by its side.

BS”D
The very mistakenly named Al-Assad (lion – his name should be al-Qalb – der hunt) reminds me of Baghdad Bob, but the sad thing is that as usual the medine did not do a complete job even though the Jews of E”Y and all who care about the safety of E”Y wanted the job to get done.
they really live in a fantasy land. They could go out to battle.. all get killed besides one and he will come back and say they won!
I guess it’s their way of keeping their morale high..
Yeh yeh…
“The Syrians fought a great fight.
Their renowned military and airforce were decisive in hamas’s victory. All of the Arab world should be proud today for assisting Hamams in this great triumph against those Jews…..”
and then Assad and Meshal woke up.

OK boys which is it?
What a bunch of homocidel losers.
Who cares what he says. I can say I’m the king of Australia, but that doesn’t make it so. Let them delude themselves. If the restraint of the Israeli army (and the weakness of the government) let them survive and they call that winning, well, whatever.
And if they support them so much, let them assimilate the “palestinians.”
Chamas should realize that they Israel may have or may soon have, a right; moral, legal, halachik, to wipe them off the face of the earth.
The war ended with Israeli troops retreating for Gaza, with the Gaza (Hamas) military still able to fire on Israeli cities, and when Shalit still a prisoner. There is still no way for Israel to block Gaza from receiving supplies from Egypt. Israel failed in accomplishing any of its goals. It therefore appears that ISRAEL LOST.
In an Israeli victory, there would have been no shelling of Israel during the last few days of the fighting, Israeli would retain control of the access routes to Egypt, and Shalit would be giving interviews in Tel Aviv (and one might add, Livni would be packing her stuff to move into the Prime Minister’s Office).
actually it makes a big difference how they feel.
if they feel like they got somewhere, regardless if its true, it will give them the confidence they need to strike again.so if anything its a massage to us that they will always be thorns to us untill “SHUVU EILAI”…
Oh please you yishmaeli, they BH got trounced!
The only reason they may have “won” is because once again derech hateva the Izzys didnt do 100% while they had the chance.
