An 11-year-old was apprehended by police behind the wheel of the family car. Her mom explained that she was rewarded for a good test score in school by receiving permission to drive the car. Mom is being taken to court by police.
Police about 10 days spotted the vehicle in the Yarkon district, seeing a child behind the wheel with a woman seated to her right. They pulled the vehicle over and were quite surprised to learn the driver was 11. Mom explained she was compelled to permit her to drive since she received a 100% on an exam, and that was the deal they made.
When being interviewed by investigators, mom told them “my daughter wanted to know what it feels like to drive so we made the deal”.
Mom’s license was confiscated pending a date in court and the family vehicle was impounded by police for 30 days.
