9:17PM IL: [PRELIMINARY] One person is reported in serious condition with a gunshot wound to the head. It appears that the victim was fired upon from a passing vehicle a short time ago near the entrance of Yishuv Kochav HaShachar in the Benjamin Regional Council district of Shomron. The motive for the shooting is unknown at this time.
A paramedic ambulance is responding and a helicopter placed on alert in the event it is needed for transport.
UPDATE 9:25PM IL: It is now being reported the shooting near the entrance to Kochav HaShachar in Shomron was a terrorist shooting attack. The victim is in critical condition with a gunshot wound to the head.
UPDATE 9:36PM IL: Paramedics are treating the shooting victim. Security forces have begun a manhunt for the shooter(s), closing down area roads.
UPDATE 9:39PM IL: The victim of the shooting attack in Shomron a short time ago is being transported to the trauma unit of Hadassah Ein Kerem Hospital in Yerushalayim. A couple was traveling in a vehicle when gunfire was directed at them near the entrance to Kochav HaShachar on the Elon Road in Shomron. Medics on the scene report the victim was shot in his head.

So “The motive for the shooting is unknown at this time.” Is YWN falling prey to political correctness. What did you think when you heard someone was shot in the head from a passing car in the Shomron? Please spare us this nonsense. The injured should have a refua shleima.

It said PRELIMINARY (report). Then there was an update 8 minutes later with the confirmed report of it being a terrorist attack. We don’t post unconfirmed reports, or speculate what the cause of an incident is. We waited the extra 10 minutes until Security Forces confirmed this to our Israel News Desk.
