2:04PM IL: Sirens are sounding in Ashkelon and Ashdod at this time. A rocket slammed into a home in Ashdod and a second rocket landed in the city’s southern industrial area without damage or injuries. Regarding the home in Ashdod, at least one person was lightly injured. MDA response personnel continue searching the impact area for victims.
MDA Emergency Medical Service officials on Sunday afternoon launched the new Erez Crossing clinic to serve Gazans. The new clinic can treat 30-40 patients and hour. MDA is boasting an array of services, staffing the facility with physicians and paramedical professionals.
Those donating to MDA should be aware the clinic cost over NIS millions and in addition to Health Ministry funds, funds from MDA donations are also going to treat the Gaza population in southern Israel. MDA is proud of the facility, part of Israel’s ongoing humanitarian efforts for the Gaza population, which during the period of suicide bus bombings, was all too willing to dance in the streets and distribute sweets to children as Israelis were being blown up on passenger buses. The Red Cross is also taking part but once again, the international humanitarian organization remains silent regarding Gilad Shalit.
Government officials explain the funds taken from the ministry are removed from tax funds handed over to the PA and not taken from budgets intended for health matters in Israel.
Barzilai Hospital officials add that treating Gazans is a general practice and even before the Gaza War, Gazans are transported to Israel occasionally for hospitalization here when Gaza medical professionals are unable to assist a patient.

Unfortunately this is Old News…MADA is one of the most corrupt organizations out there (I don’t mean the Hatzolah Volunteers) I mean the from Administration Aspect. They raise hundreds of thousands of dollars for ambulances and equipment, collect money from the Ministry of Health and still go ahead and charge every patient they can squeeze and dime out of…It’s about time we wake up and stop giving this Organization our money.

The concept of denying medical care to the enemy civilians is new. It was first introduced by the Germans in World War II. Before all cultures considered it barbaric (mind you, before World War II, bombing civilian targets was considered a war crime, as was including food in an embargo or blockade). It’s bad enough the Israelis like to imitate the Americans, but at least they aren’t imitating the Germans.
