Angered at recent statements from Defense Minister Ehud Barak, signaling a ceasefire with Hamas is near, Minister of Pensioner Affairs Rafi Eitam on Wednesday informed Prime Minister Ehud Olmert that he may be compelled to resign from the Political-Security Cabinet in response.

Eitam, and others, have expressed anger of some of Barak’s recent statements, explaining his remarks may be encouraging Hamas to continue, working against IDF soldiers and the operation, adding this is not the time to release statements of a ceasefire while the objectives of the operation have not been achieved.
