14:43: Sirens sounding in Ashkelon.

15:17: Rockets fired into Sderot.

**Several dozen anti-war protestors affiliated with the Adalah Arab human rights organization held a protest outside the Prime Minister’s Office on Tuesday afternoon. One protestor threw a rock at a police vehicle, injuring an officer in his head. The attacker was arrested.

**During a visit to Syria, French President Nicolas Sarkozy called on Syrian President Bashar al-Assad to compel Hamas to accept a truce.

15:32: Rockets fired at Gaza-belt communities. No injuries.

16:11: Rockets fired into the Gaza-belt communities.

17:30: An Israeli youth was injured in his face by rocks thrown at cars by Arabs on Highway 443, the Jerusalem-Modi’in Highway.

17:32: Soldiers operating in Gaza discovered a tunnel intended to kidnap soldiers. They also uncovered weaponry.

**Golani Brigade Commander Colonel Avi Peled, who was lightly wounded in Gaza on Monday, returned to his command on Tuesday. Despite his wounds, he refused to be evacuated from the scene until all of the wounded were transported to hospitals.

**Israeli sources report 635 killed in Gaza and over 2,500 wounded since the start of Operation Cast Lead.
