10:22AM IL: The IDF spokesman has just announced that in a separate incident, not related to the ‘mistaken tank fire’ during the night, there was another mistaken fire incident which claimed the life of a paratroop corps officer.

Since the start of the ground forces stage of Operation Cast Lead on motzei Shabbos, five members of the IDF were killed, four of them from mistaken fire.
