Heavy fighting took place between IDF forces and Hamas terrorists in Gaza. Two officers and a soldier were killed in the fighting and over 40 soldiers wounded in a number of incidents. Intelligence reports the Hamas rocket threat now exceeds the 40km (24 miles) reported earlier.
The air force hit 40 targets and at least 43 rockets landed in Israel. 20 civilians were lightly injured from the rockets and many others are suffering from shock/hysteria.
At least 100 killed in Gaza bringing the death toll since the start of the operation to 560. All of Gaza is without electricity.
