Well aware the north of the country may become involved in the war, area officials during recent days have been checking equipment and preparedness. Such is the case in all area hospitals, police, response teams, public bomb shelters, and other necessary services deemed essential during a time of war.
Haifa chemical plants are also taking undisclosed steps under the veil of threat of a Hizbullah attack. The decision to activate tens of thousands of reservists also takes into consideration the need for reinforcements in the north.
Many analysts feel an attack at present would not be in Hizbullah’s interest but Hamas continues pressuring Hizbullah, aware the Arab community as a whole has disappointed Hamas leaders in Gaza who anticipated a stronger response in opposition to the Israeli military operation.
While Hizbullah leader Sheikh Hassan Nasrallah vowed to strike if Israel enters Gaza, Baruch Hashem, to date, all has been quiet.
