Prime Minister Ehud Olmert met once again with his senior ministers, Defense Minister Ehud Barak and Foreign Minister Tzipi Livni, along with IDF Chief of Staff Lt.-Gen. Gabi Ashkenazi, ISA (Israel Security Agency – Shin Bet) Director Yuval Diskin to discuss the ongoing IDF offensive against Hamas-based terror in Gaza.
Following the high-level meeting, the decision was made to reject calls for a 48 break in the offensive which supporters feel would provide a window of opportunity to permit humanitarian aid to Gaza.
It appears Israel is sending a clear message to Hamas, that the situation reached the ‘point of no return’ and Israel is now determined to dismantle Hamas’ advanced military abilities.
