Meeting with southern area residents, Deputy IDF Chief of Staff Major-General Dan Harel explained “it will be a long haul” and residents must “brace themselves for this eventuality”.

The senior commander explained that this will not be a “boom and we are done” operation, explaining the ongoing offensive is intended to dismantle and destroy Hamas’ infrastructure. He stressed there is a long road ahead, but when the smoke clears, there will be a new reality in Gaza.

Harel stated the IDF is not just targeting rocket launchers and Hamas, but the regime’s infrastructure. He told residents when the mission is over, there will not be a single Hamas structure remaining.
