Calls are already being heard that Israel may not entertain any cessation of the ongoing military assault against Gaza-based terrorists without the release of captive soldier Gilad Shalit as a precondition.
While major Hamas strikes are expected in retaliation for the Israeli offensive, it is only a matter of time until the terrorist organization’s resources begin to dwindle and the infrastructure of the Hamas army crumbles if Israel decides to maintain the pressure.
There are already calls to senior government officials to reject any talk of a halt in military operations without first securing the release of Shalit, who is marking his third Chanukah in Hamas captivity.
Analysts explain that government officials are well-aware that the current offensive only serves to complicate Shalit’s condition and any subsequent efforts towards obtaining his release.

took ’em three years, if they don’t get him out now…well, it’s really hard for me not to heap curses upon them that they should suffer like he and his family does, but I won’t, even though they deserve even worse for not doing this three years ago
Who [besides Kadima] needs analysts? We need a determined gov’t to keep up the pressure until Hamas or whatever “pals” are left come begging for a ceasefire, and of course with Shalit released before we even BEGIN such talks.
But I must be dreaming, no? Does Yechiel Spira really think that Kadima can hold onto this, despite all the international pressure??? I don’t!
How do they know that he is still alive
