The Knesset Committee has frozen the salary of lawmakers, foregoing a planned 3.5% salary hike to compensate MKs for cost of living increases.

The initiative came from Kadima MK David Tal, and the committee voted unanimously in support. As a result, MKs will not receive an additional NIS 900 a month [before taxes].
